How to Weather The Current Economic Turbulence
Here in the U.S., the powers that be have spent
the weekend behind closed doors assessing the
most effective way to manage the massive
bailout of Wall Street by us the already burdened
taxpayers.
With this in mind, if you haven’t thought about
it before, perhaps now would be a good time to
consider a personal taxpayer bailout and recovery plan
as a way to weather the financial turbulence that
shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
If you’re fortunate enough to have an IRA, a 401K,
or other such retirement account and your risk
tolerance has been aggressive. It’s time to
slow your roll and become much more risk averse.
If you’ve been thinking about starting an
online business, now is the time to step in
with both feet, as the economy can use all the
innovation and productivity we can muster right
now. Moreover, by doing so you position yourself
to start building an asset that YOU control, while
also facing and overcoming any uncertainty or
fear with cautious resolve and determination, as
a government bailout for us taxpayers doesn’t
appear to be in the cards.
In undertaking steps to develop my own
personal bailout and recovery plan, discussions
with my financial advisor suggest that things
are likely to be a bit of a roller coaster
for the next 12 to 18 months, but the kind of
shakeup that we’re seeing right now in the financial
world, has historically led to a period that re-establishes
the bottom of things, while also strengthening the
foundation on which things will begin to recover.
So, as you consider your own personal bailout and
recovery plan, might I suggest a little prayer,
a little faith, a little determination, and a
lot of patience, and some good ole-fashioned
creativity and ingenuity.
Sound like a plan?…then strap yourself in for
the bumpy ride, get to work and execute decisively.
