As you begin to define and refine your online presence,
it’s well worth taking the time to coordinate your
product and service offerings, so that they support
your overall business objective.

In effect, there should be a method to the madness
with regard to your promotions.  In other words,
just as you might coordinate colors and accessorize
to dress for success.  You might consider applying
that same sensitivity to how your affiliate offers
relate and interrelate to each other.

I wouldn’t recommend mixing affiliate program offers
that have no clear relationship to each other or to
the brand that you’re trying to build your business
around. 

In other words, if your niche is lead generation, then
coordinate and accessorize your affiliate product
offerings around that area of expertise.  Don’t promote
yourself as a lead generation business while also
trying to promote pet supplies, automobile parts, and
lotions and potions under the same moniker.

If you do wish to promote affiliate products outside
the realm of your primary area, I would recommend
establishing a separate promotions area on your
website or blog similar to what you see under the
Be an Ad Partner header on the sidebar of this blog.

Establishing a separate promotional area on your
website or blog not only creates an additional
revenue stream from the sale of ad space to
folks outside your niche, but doing so allows
you to branch out a bit without compromising your
own brand identity.
